What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Challenging Giants

When I founded OSOM, it was on the core tenet that technology cannot be a solution in search of a problem; it must solve an existing issue. For us, it was obvious that consumer electronics companies are engaging in privacy theater – speaking to it as though they take it seriously, while simultaneously using the data they collect on users to shape their messaging.

As we went through the process of raising capital for this new company, I was regularly asked by VCs why we would focus on the consumer, and not the enterprise. After all, companies have lots of money and hold lots of data. But you know what we found when we did the research? The average income of people currently paying for privacy (in the form of apps and services focused on privacy) is under $50K. What this showed us is that our core tenet is correct – everyone deserves to own their privacy and wants to own it – to not be in a position to have to question whether or not they can trust companies to keep their data private, but rather to know exactly where and how their data is being handled, and have immediate control over it. Nowhere is this more obvious than in Europe, with real legislation geared toward protecting privacy at all costs, and not bending to the whims of corporations.

This might sound like we are focused on privacy at the expense of general use, or that we’re anti-sharing (FB, Instagram, TikTok, etc). But that isn’t the case at all. More than ever, in the age of Covid, we firmly believe sharing our stories is integral to reminding ourselves how connected we all are across the globe. What we don’t believe is that we, our families, or our future customers should ever have to worry about what we’re sharing, or whether we’re giving access to private information without knowing it.

Last week, OSOM announced our total funds raised to date of $17.5M, and excitingly, our sponsorship of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. What their owner, Jim Glickenhaus, has done is nothing short of astounding in a short amount of time. That a small shop led by brilliant, driven people has taken the fight to massive companies with budgets 100x of their own, is absolutely amazing.

I promise that what we’re building will all come together and be something properly unique, aspiring to genuinely address the problem of consumer privacy for everyone.
