What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Privacy by Design

One of the great privileges and responsibilities that comes with starting a new company is the opportunity to solve a problem from first principles. As a designer and engineer, this begins with identifying the most elegant path forward – an integration of St. Dieter’s “Good design is as little design as possible” and the classic truism “form follows function.” We get to figure out the WHYs, WHATs, and HOWs of solving one of the most important and personal problems of our connected age.

So, when OSOM set out to create a company that gives individuals control over their connected, digital lives, we started with our mission: allowing you to access the world without the world having access to you. This leads us to build solutions that ensure Privacy by Design. This may seem naïvely obvious, but consider the status quo.

The original missions of some of the digital world’s greatest connecting forces have led them to create solutions that are inherently not private. These missions led to decisions that generated their long-term infrastructure, which in turn shapes a company’s behaviors long after they have grown into behemoths. For instance:

– If a company’s mission is “to make the world more open and connected” then it will make the data it collects more public and less controllable by individuals. It will build technologies that allow each person’s behavior to be correlated and fingerprinted, tracked and shared. Such a company will try to make what is private public, by design.

– If a company’s mission is “to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful” then it will gather all the data it can and use it however it sees fit. It will create massive datasets and mine them for behavioral patterns it can act on. It will scrape data about you, your behavior, the street you live on, where you drive, the messages you send, the things you look at, and more. Such a company will try to gather everything and exploit it, by design.

Too many of today’s leading tech companies are fundamentally built to make your lives less private because it’s part of their founding principles. At OSOM, we start with the realization that our connected lives deserve to be under your (and only your) control. So, as we build the solutions that will make OSOM awesome, we are laying the foundation for a company that will always honor your privacy, by design.

Our end-to-end solutions will span hardware, software, and connectivity to reliably and permanently keep you in control of your data. Our infrastructure will decentralize control over data. Our products will grow to serve the individual and not the company. We have so much to share in due time, but all of it is being built to serve Privacy by Design.
